DHUNE, stands for the unique association and exceptional interaction between the teams involved in diagnostics, clinical research and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and aging, the teams involved in the fundamental research in human and social sciences, neurosciences, neuroimaging and neurophysiology of the Aix-Marseille University, the trainings offered in the field of neurosciences, as well as the involvement of private companies.
With the great involvement of multidisciplinary experts (medicine, biology, psychology, sociology, physics, mathematics, economy) DHUNE aims at establishing a continuum in the research fields, focusing mainly on essential clinical, economical and societal aspects. Along with this, the education of the medical, paramedical and social-medical staff will be reinforced and a dual training in medicine and neuroscience research will be offered.
DHUNE, profits from the complementary nature of its different structures enabling the mutualisation of platforms and resources towards a common goal: the fight against neurodegenerative diseases.
This unique multidisciplinary and transversal approach addressing the loss of motor and cognitive functions and the psychological impact of neurodegenerative diseases permits the identification and qualification of biomarkers of neurodegenerative diseases and their optimal applications in research.
